I ended up phoning PayPal after the guy messaged me again (still really wanted the record). I had gone to town to mail another package (and do something else) and saw it when I got back. He had a stroke not long ago and has weird vision now in each eye. All he can do IS copy-and-paste on things like that. The PayPal rep was VERY nice and patient. We tried something, but that cancel request he had done was already in effect. Mainly he is not thrilled at having to wait 30 days to get THAT back. I told him I will hold the item for at least two weeks (and may still have it after a month). I did not hear back to THAT reply, but he was appreciative I was going to call PayPal. Got disconnected the first time and I kept making sure the rep was there the next time instead of continuing to explain. Also got a response after I had sent a written inquiry to PayPal. Even if the customer had phoned PP sounds like the outcome would have been the same. I have had various folks misspell my last name (part of the email) and try to nip it in the bud before they pay. Even my mother-in-law spelled it wrong till last year...that's a LONG time. Years ago I had an eBay customer SWEAR she had paid. She misspelled it and it was sitting in limbo. I told her I did not ever get it and she was able to confirm that. Thank you.
