Hello, A few weeks ago I had to open a PayPal Resolution Case for item not received as I didn't receive the complete service that I purchased. I have had PayPal review the case and they have got back to me, but instead of closing the case (either in favor of the seller or in favor of myself), they asked for more information. However, the way they asked for it was rather weird and strange. They have asked me to fill out the following declaration: From: ____________________________ Regarding: ______________________________ Case Number: Transaction ID: I confirm that one of the following occurred (please indicate by marking): [ ] Instead of the item I expected, I received an empty box. [ ] Instead of the item I expected, I received an item of little or no value. [ ] I received the item I expected with missing parts, components, or pieces. [ ] I received less than the full quantity of the item. [ ] The item I received has been confiscated by, or turned over to, law enforcement or another authority. I declare, under penalty of perjury, that all statements submitted herewith are true to the best of my knowledge. _____________________________ _______________________ Signature Date This is very strange and I have never been asked to do this before. Why would I lie about not receiving something - and, more to the point, why should I have to fill out something like this just to continue with a claim? Does PayPal want me to just drop the claim and let the vendor take my money? If so, then this is pretty poor practice and I may have to reconsider who I make payments to, and with what provider I do it with (i.e. someone that isn't PayPal). Never before have I been required to do something like this - and as for "penalty of perjury" - well, not only do I not know what this means, but also, why would PayPal accuse me of such a thing? A bit of information on this would be appreciated as I have opened cases for both item not received and item not as described in the past (when items have indeed been not as described, or not received) - why would this be any different to before?!
