We haven't found any other options at the moment, but I think if you have to use a tool like Zapier, a competitor called Make is much better. Zapier was taking forever to move over the connection between PayPal and Wave, but we were able to get everything done in 20% of the time (and for much cheaper) using Make instead. It still requires access to a lot of capabilities in the apps, so it might not fit what you're looking for still.
