- purchased tangible items from a person registered on PayPal
- paid via PayPal by using "pay for goods and services" (NOT "Friends and Family")
- PayPal received the fees associated with this transaction
Turns out, the seller was a scammer and did not send the goods I purchased. I thought "great, I used the right transaction, I am protected!" Ha!
PayPal simply denied the purchase protection, citing "transaction not eligible". No explanation, no contact, no ask for more details - simply denied. The "purchase protection" is not worth the electrons used to make it appear on the screen. Just send everything Family and Friends, it appears it is not worth paying a cent extra for "protection"!
Users, beware - PayPal appears to be valuing the business of scam artists over the business of people that have to work for the money they get scammed out of. It is sad and discouraging that PayPal did not seem the least interested in the fact that someone used their service for criminal purposes. They seem perfectly fine with me getting shafted.
I would appreciate any tips on how to get someone, anyone to actually listen and look at the facts of this transaction.
