Yesterday I received an Email from paypal which was : " We need some information from you. Why do we need this information? We've noticed suspicious activity on a credit card added to your PayPal account. To confirm that you're the owner of the credit card, we need you to confirm your identity. We've also temporarily limited certain features in your PayPal account. Currently, you won't be able to: Make a payment Withdraw money After this email I immediately contacted PayPal via message center and after they confirmed that this message I went to submit the photo id(passport) and confirmed the credit card via 1 pound transaction. After that it went for review and as everything was correct so I knew that it would be a regular checkup but after 4-5 hours I receive an email which says We're initiating the closure of your PayPal account After a thorough review of your PayPal account, we're initiating its closure in order to protect us from potential financial losses. You'll no longer be able to use PayPal account. What happens to your account balance? If you have money in your PayPal balance, we'll hold it for up to 180 days. We'll do a periodic review of your account for money release. A gradual approach to an account closure allows us to part ways, while considering any liabilities that may arise. As we initiate the closure, we must oversee the appropriate movement of money in your account. If your account balance shows an amount owing to us, you'll have to settle that amount to avoid further action.
