It's really sad for me to be writing this. I honestly think that PayPal sides with thieves and scammers who knows all the loopholes of PayPal. Here is my story : I met a lady online about few months ago, we got along just fine, she never asked me for money or any materialistic things and that made me believe it was true love. At one stage I had a problem with my laptop and she sent me a link to download a program that allows her to fix my computer remotely which she actually did. Fast forward to last week, I was on my way home when I received an email that $1000 of funds that I had in my PayPal was sent to someone in Japan. When I got home I immediately inform PayPal of the unauthorized and I explained what has happened, it was easy for me to know exactly who sent the funds because when I got home the tabs on my laptop where still open, they said they will investigate, I even made contact to the owner of the account which the money was sent to just to see if it was someone who is working with the lady who I was in love with but I find out that he was just a victim like myself. On Saturday I received an email saying that my transaction was not unauthorized because it in line with my payment history. How so if the payment was not done from my device? Did the account holder of the other account reach out to PayPal when the transaction was under investigation? I really lost trust in their investigation process. What are my options when things are like this? I can't afford to loose $1000. Please someone advise me.
