Recently I had over $1000 dollars transferred to someone i do not know and have never requested or received any goods or services from. I noticed when they took it from my actual bank account linked to my PayPal and i quickly shut down this transaction at my bank. It wasn't until the next day that I found that PayPal covered the amount for the bogus theft and gave it right to the person stealing from me leaving me with a negative balance. I opened a dispute and they took maybe a day to say it was consistent with my account. I have literally only used my account maybe twice and mostly it has been on for Paypal credit. I have never transferred money anyhow. How is that consistent. With a little research on the person who took this money I am sure that they would have found it was a fake person. So now I have had money stolen from me, I have had to change all of my bills to a new account with my bank, and I owe Paypal over $1000 for someone stealing from me. Not to mention I have called at least 40 times and each time I get through to an actual "all calls may be monitored" speech, they literally hang up on me with and automated message that says they cannot take this call right now. I am super unimpressed at the lack of professionalism for such a large company caring for so many peoples money. Any advice would be more than welcome.
