Someone just called into the Jeremy Vine radio show on UK BBC2 radio talking about this topic (15 Oct 2020). They ordered a game console and received a sub-standard item. They complained to the seller and was told to return to China or accept a partial refund. Paid via PayPal and was told return it before getting the PayPal refund.   There is a lot of this happening from lots of Chinese sellers.     ... View more

Ordered a drone, received a skipping rope. Contacted seller - offered 40% refund and keep the skipping rope, or return the incorrect item for a full refund. Here is the email transcript:   You have sent me a skipping rope, not a drone. Please see attached photo   Dear Valued Customer, Thanks for your email.We are sorry about the problem.Or how about we offer you a 40% refund as compensation and would you please do me a favor to keep it? You know, it is international shipping, it takes a long time for the parcel to send back and the return postage may cost a lot. Please let me know how you think so that I can solve the problem for you.   Can you please send what I ordered or full refund.    We need to return the merchandise for a full refund, (We only bear part of the return shipping cost, please pay for the excess cost.)
