I use Paypal to purchase items off of the internet. I do not do this very frequently so I am not totally aware of Paypal policies regarding returns. I purchased a smart watch off of the internet on May 20. It was advertised as an iwatch 3 or 5. The video showed an iwatch being unpacked from an apple watch box with the apple logo on the box. I figured that they were selling reconditioned iwatches since the cost was $59.95 US. I ordered the 5. It took more than 60 days to come. When I received the watch it was not what was originally advertised. It was a knock off. When I tried to set up the watch the app that came with the watch did not support the watch. I had to find an older version of the app to set it up as best as I could. The watch was advertised with the ability to take EKGs. It can not do this. When i tried the watch outside I could not read the dial. It does not adjust for bright light. I contacted the seller to find out what was going on. I received a response that there had a been a mistake in advertising. Someone in their company had used the iwatch video in error. The error was later corrected. I was never notified of this. I requested a full refund including the return shipping costs saying that the watch was not what I had orderd through them and did not work as advertised. I received a response that included an offer for me to keep the watch and I would receive a 5% refund. When I rejected the offer their offer of a refund increased to 15% then 50%. When I pushed for a full refund I was informed that I would have to pay return shipping fees to China. The watch was originally shipped from the Netherlands. I would also have to pay their original cost of shipping to me and a 5% restocking fee. What that means is that I would have to pay $20 for their shipping, plus $20 shipping to return the item to them and a 5% restocking fee. Is there anything that I can do?
