I saw a Kids bike from a 3rd part website and decided to buy since they offered payments via PayPal who offered buyer protection. After 6 weeks, I received my shipment and was surprised to see a small package as I was expecting a bike in large package! When I opened the package it turned out to be a small toy rubix cube and realized that seller has scammed me! I reported this to Paypal and opened a dispute which was quite easy. However dealing with paypal afterwards was a nightmare. Paypal gave seller 3 weeks to respond who responded on the last day of the deadline. Seller requested to send the product back to china for refund and provided no shipping label. Only option on the website was to upload the tracking number. I tried to contact Paypal support via message center and they provided generic messages and said issue has been passed on to dispute center. It has been more than 5 weeks since the dispute is open and I feel helpless. I have spent lot of time with Paypal and Paypal has really not taken ownership of Buyer protection and has let me down. Conclusion: I would not rely on "Buyer Protection" claim from Paypal.
