We are a non profit church org attempting to refund attendees to a cancelled event due to the virus. We had refunded around $7000 when Paypal blocked us from doing it, said it was a security issue. I have spoken to numerous agents including a supervisor, all agree it was a Paypal system mistake. But they were unable to override it. Now they have removed our back account, also stating it is a security issue. We have tried to add a bank, and we have all necessary creds for this, and we get the message to try later. Of course, PP is not taking phone calls at this point. We still owe attendees over $3000 and this has been going on for 4+ weeks with no one able to help us. This is an account we have had for years, and never had an issue. With the online system not working, and the phone system unavailable, one wonders if PP is even safe. Our church is a long established organization and our bank a well known business in our area (San Antonio). I am not sure what the virus has to do with this situation. This could easily be managed with a working online form system. Anybody have any ideas?
