Beware of Scammers Phishing for your account info!

Fellow PayPalers,   I'd like to bring to the attention of the community about scammers who might be phishing for your account information. During this viral outbreak PayPal's official customer support is probably flooded with an increase of transactions so it seems there is an increase of people trying to take advantage of the chaos. I've received numerous emails from "PayPal" informing me of various issues related to my account and asked me to resolve it by following a provided link, which will then ask you to log in and input your account information. Those are probably scammers linking you to a domain that outwardly resembles the real PayPal but in actuality are gaining access to the information you've unknowingly provided. I've had a few close calls when I started to log in through their link and got suspicious and logged on to PayPal separately and saw nothing unusual. I quickly changed my password and lo and behold, I received an email the next day informing me that someone had tried to log into my account from a different country.  I've attached a screenshot of a sample email I received from "PayPal". As you can see it looks very similar to the real PayPal so it's hard to tell. But if you are unsure please DO NOT use the provided link. Instead, log on to PayPal separately through their official log in page. And if you have already provided your account information through the provided link, it is best to change your account password right away.   All the best. It sounds like a classic phishing scam set up by people who are trying to get you to unknowingly sent them your account info by creating a phoney PayPal message that looks similar to the real PayPal. And they're taking advantage of the backup in PayPal customer support over the increase of online purchases during the pandemic. I've gotten a few emails from "PayPal" claiming certain issues about my account and I had my suspicions. When I logged onto PayPal (separately, not through the provided link) there was nothing unusual about it. The best thing you should do right away is to change the password for any account information you've provided through the link. And if you provided any credit card info you should contact your card company and inquire about any unusual activities or, to err on the side of caution, suspend the card altogether.    In the future, if you receive any emails from "PayPal" asking you to follow a link. DO NOT use their link. Log in to PayPal separately to confirm it through their official site.   I attached a similar email I got from "PayPal" asking me to resolve some obscure issue by following their link. As you can see it's very similar but the copyright information on the bottom of a email from the real PayPal is missing.   Be careful, these scammers are insidious and sneaky. Best of luck. ...
