Learn from my mistake. I signed a sublease for a room from someone who did not have a legal right to sublease the room. I paid via Paypal Protection and in less than a month she got evicted and I along with her. I tracked down the landlord who agreed to help me by providing me with the unlawful detainer that got her evicted. I opened a dispute on paypal to recover my deposit and rent by providing THE UNLAWFUL DETAINER but was denied by their crappy resolution center because the unlawful detainer does not mention my name, ALTHOUGH IT PROVES the original agreement between me and her was illegal from the start (California law).
