hi yecats,   basically, the buyer of the phone filed a PayPal claim due to not receiving the phone yet it seems like and paypal put those funds on hold for possible refund if not delivered. ask your bf if he has the fedex tracking info and enter it so PayPal/buyer can track it.   good luck. ... hi,   sounds like the buyer may have filed a PayPal claim on the monies they sent to your account since your boyfriend used your account to invoice the buyer either because they haven't received the item or received but not as described.   if the invoice was sent from your account, you can log onto your account and view the transaction details of the sale to see if the buyer/sender of the money is verified.  also check your "My account" page to see if there is a dispute opened.  usually the dispute center will give you detailed info on why you were sent that email asking for money back.   i would look for a telephone number to talk to PayPal customer service and most importantly, check the email header of the email you received asking for this 400 dollars to see if any of the email addresses look suspicious just to be sure.   good luck.   ... Thanks Dinesh.   That's well and fine but either the customer freaked out because they're only focused on the "login" box and just dread opening a PayPal account or not reading thoroughly what's on the screen so what PayPal must do is make a similar box where it is dummy-proof and absolutely clear that you can send payment without having to create a PayPal account.  I have buyers who order from overseas and they intuitively know what a login box is but when there's too much text around the link to pay with credit card only, they get confused.    I will do a test with a PayPal invoice myself to see what the customer sees to determine that if paying with credit card, without creating PayPal account is possible.  Keep in mind that last I checked (a few weeks ago) the only way that is possible is with the "Buy Now" button/email link and I don't believe I was picked to get a preview of the new version of PayPal invoicing where that feature is turned on. ... Yeah, sometimes when you have multiple items it gets tricky filling out those forms.     For example in the original post (OP), the seller had a declared value of $16.88 for 48 books and the reason the error message was saying "greater than $400.00" is because 48 books @ $16.88 each was entered so the system is calculating it like as: 48 x $16.88 = $810.24 which is "greater than $400.00".     What you want to do is divide $16.88 by 48 books = $0.35 per book with 8 cents left over.  So you would enter  47 books @ 35 cents each and 1 book @ $0.43 giving you the total declared value of $16.88.   Again, essentially you have to divide the declared value by your quantity until it equals down to the exact penny, the declared value you entered for your shipment.   Hope this helps. ... @ Moskose, Check this link, if you do not believe me: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/pop/help-account-optional   Or even this quote under the PayPal Account Optional setting in your Website Payment Preferences:   "When this feature is turned on, your customers will go through an optimized checkout experience. This feature is available for Buy Now, Donations, and Shopping Cart buttons, but not for Subscription buttons."   There is NO mention of the PayPal INVOICE feature being included in this.   And I may add that the link in a PayPal Invoice email is different from the (email) link and/or Buy Now button created via the Merchant Services page. ... Accept or Deny feature for all Incoming Payments

I noticed that some payments I receive have a Accept or Deny feature.  Under which conditions do this occur?  (ie. when a sender pays with credit card?, instant payments? payment originating from personal, premiere or business account?, etc)   And is there a preference where I can turn this feature on for all payment types?   Thanks, Sharpiemarker ... First, login to PayPal and there is a dropdown menu in your corresponding PayPal transaction which lets you enter shipment tracking information.  It will update the transaction status to Shipped once that's done.  As a result, PayPal will know you've shipped the item and will automatically notify the buyer as well.   ...
