My question is, would he be able to stop or retract the transfer of funds into my PayPal account before it has cleared, thereby effectively stealing my item. Hi @Steely1962, As there are multiple instances, I will provide a response for each one: Seller Hold (21 days) You should dispatch the item to the buyer, with a tracking number attached, if applicable. As the payment has been sent, it cannot be retracted by the buyer on the PayPal website. This does not prevent a dispute from being opened, which can temporarily revoke the funds from your account. OR Authorization Review (24-48 hours) You should not dispatch the item. Please await a further email, on whether their purchase was authorized or reversed. As the outcome can be a reversal of the funds, it is not safe to complete the sale yet. OR eCheque Transfer (7-10 working days) You should not dispatch the item. Please wait until the funds from the eCheque have cleared, which will also be confirmed via email. Once confirmed, the item can be dispatched. As an eCheque can bounce, like a real one, it is not safe to complete the sale until confirmed as processed. As I cannot comment on this specific transaction, please use discretion. If unsure of which hold it is, please contact PayPal Customer Service for the most accurate advice. You can click here to retrieve their contact number.
