The IPN method looks just too damn complicated for me.   The  My Account History All Activity    More Filters       Shipping           Items to ship. method works fine, and will do the trick, but it sure is a lot of levels to navigate every time one wants to do what I would think would be one of the most  common searches.. I am really surprised there is so little interest here in this issue.   I find the account page one of the biggest weaknesses of my PP site, since if you have more than ten or so orders at a session you waste a lot of time doubling back and forth trying to get the older ones to display and making the payments sent for shipping go away so you can work with the the payments received. An ITEMS TO SHIP button right on the main account screen would save hours of work and avoid overlooked orders. If only PP listened. ... View more

We have been having trouble with delayed orders - orders that suddenly show on our account days or weeks after they were received by Paypal. Since the appear listed at the date Paypal received them, they appear way back chronologically, where we often do not see them. Usually, the first we hear of it is an angry email from the customer wondering where his or her's merchandise is. We do a search a search for the order and find it, hundreds of transactions back.    We have gotten in the habit of scanning old transactions occasionally to see if any new ones have popped up, but that is cumbersome and a few seem to still sneak by..   Is there any easy way to do a search for unshipped items? ... That is to say, using Stamps as a workaround for PPs inexplicable refusal to let us use USPS First Class internationally? Seems like a lot of hassle, and not cheap with the monthly charge, but there doesn't seem to be any alternative. ... View more

Any way to print a label without any postage?

With the recent crazy hike of Priority International prices, I've got to find an alternate way to ship. First Class looks good for my smaller packages, but PP notoriously refuses to allow it for international shipments. Is there anyway to print out a mailing label from within PP without having a carrier or any postage on it? With the barcodes and customs info, but not "stamped". If I could do that, I could take it to the PO to buy postage and mail it, but otherwise if I do my own label I have to reenter all the address info, then fill in the dreaded 5 page customs form, and still won't have the barcode. ... I run into this almost every time I do a batch of orders. It's very rare, though, that Shipping is really not available for any length of time. If just back up a few screens and try again, 90% of the time it prints the label. Unfortunately, PP  makes it hard to do this since if you just back up one screen the pay and print option is disabled, so you go to go back and re-enter most of the data which is a pain and quite unecessary.   What is interesting about this is that , since shipping is usually unavailable for only seconds, the problem would seem to be being vastly exaggerated by the klutzy PP interface that is too quick to say that shipping is unavailable - it they just buffered things so their software would try for  few more seconds before saying it was unavailable, then they could eliminate most of the "Not Available" events. And if they just had a "Try Again" button, they would greatly lessen the aggravation when it happens.   Alas I have seen no evidence that PP reads this forum for tips in improving their service, or for that matter, that they monitor or respond to feedback in anyway. Stupid, obvious and easy to fix errors and klutziness in the system never seem to be addressed, even when doing so would be easy, and make thee system more user friendly. ... View more

Refund explanation not getting through

I frequently need to refund small amounts to buyers. I use the refund form on my Paypal account, and include an explanation of why I am refunding it. In the past this has always worked well (though it would be nice if it had a little more room for the explanation).   Lately I have been deluged with puzzled emails asking me why I have refunded the money. I finally figured out that the explanation note was not being send along with the refund - the Paypal form was somehow forgetting to send it - leaving the buyer baffled as to why.    Anyone else having this problem? Is Paypal aware of it? I'd inform them. but I have no clue how to. ... View more

I just logged on to send some stuff by Priority International, and found that, in addition to a really obscene increase in price, there is no longer a discount for using Paypal or other online shipping. That is to say, the PO over the counter price is now the same as the Paypal price.   I knew the increase was coming, but am a bit taken aback by how much it is - the original PO info said the increases wouild average 3% or so. But I don't recall hearing anything from Paypal or USPS  about discontinuing the discount for online purchase of labels/shipping, making me wonder if it is for real or a glitch. Anyone know anything?   ... View more

Shipping orders from overseas to domestic addresse...

I occasionally get an order from overseas, where the buyer wants the item shipped to a US address where he or she will pick it up. The PP card/charging engine insists on charging shipping based on the credit card address. When I try the opposite, ordering with a US card, then change the ship-to address to an overseas one it will not let me change the country, and insists on the ship-to address ending with US. Anyone know if there is a way around this? As a temporary measure I have been sending the buyer an invoice for the exact amount with the correct US or overseas postage, but this is clumsy and time consuming and has driven  a few buyers away.     ...
