its beyond a joke, I dont understand the logic of paypal at all.    to be honest im in the same boat as you thinking of leaving the platform as their protection is a complete myth. so many people here saying they have been scammed, too many items not delivered the list goes on.    but yet it you open a dispute   DENIED!     this is regardless if you have proof!!! ... Im sorry you are going through the same issues as me right now, it seems that paypal buyer protection is a myth and will not serve you any use when it comes to opening a dispute.    like yourself I have various emails, tracking details etc showing an item never coming and they say its delivered.   after hour 3 of sitting in an empty live chat after being "transferred" they will re-open my case when i show the representative the tracking details and then close the case the next day saying its delivered. its a complete joke.    This has been going on for me for weeks, so be prepared for allllllllot of wasted time. sorry 😞 ... be prepared for alot of wasted time and unnecessary stalling tactics.    But first, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!!!! PLEASE!!!!!  set up two step authentication too if you can!!! you will probably be told to open a dispute, then get told nothing is wrong. I have had this happen in the past and luckily i managed to get the platform that had purchases made to refund the money not paypal, they were useless.     if the money has been used for a service like games, products etc get in contact with them to tell them that purchases made were unauthorised, hopefully they will be of some help.    ... Im sorry this has happened to you, Pay-pal has a great system of making you think that using their platform is safe, only to pull the carpet from your feet when you need help.     Take solace in the fact that even though you have used what pay-pal would call an unprotected service using family and friends transfer, even their "protected" services do not live up to expectation.    You may be better of contacting your bank and seeing if you can issue a charge back.    best of luck ... Im sorry to see that so many people are dealing with this, like me at the moment you are dealing with the exact same problem as myself.    Ive been providing Paypal screenshots of DHL's website showing my items were sent to germany and not the UK and they still see that as delivered to myself, even with someone with a different name.    When I opened the dispute it was closed nigh on instantly in favour of the seller. although i DID provide all this proof.   For another day I am sitting in live chat, going nowhere fast.    What happens for me is that I talk to someone, show them the tracking screenshot. they agree that the case needs to be re-opened, then it will be closed again by paypal in favour of the seller saying its delivered.  Be prepared for alot of wasted time in live chat and to not have any resolution to your matter.   Pay-pal buyer protection is a joke. ... Paypal seemingly doesnt offer no protection at all by the looks of it.   I have been fighting a dispute for a long time now and they keep favouring seller although when i talk to a representative online and show them the tracking they see its in another country????   As soon as it goes to dispute they close it in favour of the seller. back to chat re-open the case, close the case in favour of seller. rinse repeat.. its becoming part of my daily routine now. beyond a joke.   ...
