You used the wrong bank info when making a paypal payment.

When I was paying for an ebay purchase, I forgot to change the banking info in paypal and used the incorrect information. I recevied an email stating my bank declined the electronic funds payment and they would retry in 3 days.  Is there a way to stop this from happening and updating so the funds can come from the correct bank account?

I am in the same boat as you. I contacted the seller but they sent the item as if the payment cleared. (I know for sure the payment won't clear from the account I mistakenly used.) What I think happens next is paypal may cover it until you can deposit money into the account within 3 business days of the notification email that stated your bank denied the electronic transfer request. At least I HOPE that's what happens, because I sent a double payment. You know the little confirmation screen after you select which payment method? According to my recent little mishap, it doesn't matter if you don't do the final confirmation. I tried to change my payment source before the final confirmation and it didn't work.
