When you register a bank account with PayPal, we have two ways to finish the confirmation process on the bank:
The first (older and slower) method is random deposits, which can take 2-3 business days.
If the bank account is eligible, however, we allow you the opportunity to complete an instant verification instead. This process asks for your online bank information and then compares it against what the bank has on file (PayPal doesn't keep this information). If it matches, the bank is instantly confirmed; if not, you can use random deposits instead.
If you're not comfortable with the instant verification process, we do allow you to opt for the traditional deposit method instead.
