I've sold and bought on Ebay since the very first year Ebay was in business.
Paypal "Froze" my main account about a year ago and they refuse to tell me why. Thankfully, I only had a couple dollars in there. I've called, emailed, and have done everything I could possibly do and they act like I did something wrong. The only thing they can say is that an Ebay user name is associated with my account that sold something illegal.
When I call / email Ebay, they have no idea what I'm talking about and see absolutely no association.
So --- I was so fed up I just created a new paypal account with new info and new email and yada yada yada.
After ALL THAT - one of my first transactions with my new account.... gets HELD! 21 days. I have had it!
I sold my NFL Football tickets to a game a couple of weeks ago. You don't "Ship" tickets, you send them electronically through your ticket account.
The buyer has enjoyed the game and the game is OVER! But - regardless of my attempt to get him to leave positive feedback.... he has done nothing. ( New buyer to ebay )
So - Paypal tells me.... sorry... you must wait 3 weeks to get your money. Meanwhile, Paypal is most likely holding millions of dollars from their customers and earning interest on OUR money! If that is not horrible business practice I do not know what is.
Paypal and Ebay do everything to protect the buyers and nothing to protect sellers. If Paypal is going to have this "21" day policy, they need to have practices in place to contact the buyers to remind them to leave good feedback if the item arrived. Right now - buyers can just do nothing and we have to wait 21 days.
Paypal - I won't use you anymore. I have my own business and I'll use my credit card machine at my office from now on.
Shame on you paypal!
