I was selling an antique sewing machine. The buyer put the money for the machine plus freight charge of $300.00
and $50.00 for charges by Western Union. I don't want to pay out $350.00 before my money can even be
available at PayPal. Western Union told me this is not a ususal policy.
Someone please reply.

Welcome to the boards!
Western Union is correct, this is not a usual policy for PayPal.
In fact, it's not our policy at all. We don't involve Western Union, and you'll always see a payment in your account somewhere (either in your Available Balance or your Pending Balance) if it truly has been sent.
To me, this sounds like it may be a traditional scam technique. You may want to check out our Fraud and Phishing forums; your story sounds eerily similar to several of the stories told there.
Another great article online about these types of scams - admittedly, very long - is located here.
Thanks!
Adrian
