Paypal has little to no security these days and try to get a transaction reversed takes and act of god. The should take this site and toss it!!!! They can toss eBay as well, the fee's are insane .... they are the "myspace" generation and someone needs to launch the new generation of both these sites and replace these relics!!!

Class Action Lawsuit against Paypal for holding funds
for their Illegal of holding funds for 21 days among other things.
Information to join in this class action lawsuit below.
A law firm out of Chicago, Freed & Weiss in the coming weeks will be
doing a major advertising campaign broadcasting TV commercials and
print ads around the country, in an effort to encourage others who
have been victimized by PayPal to join in.
I myself have gotten the attention of NY State Senator Chuck Schumer
and his office through my sister's law firm about Paypal's practices
and brought attention to Schumer's office of not only with Paypal's
holding money for 21 days. But to investigate on whether or not
Paypal is profiting on that money but to find out if this is a way of them
doing stock manipulation to appease to stock holders and to inflate
their stocks.
Interesting from my research is Paypal in the last year has hired
former retail bankers from corrupt banking institutions that have
hosed our government out of Billions due to the bailouts the banks
have received and squandered.
The CEO of PAYPAL, Scott Thompson got a huge raise last year
and for those that don't know was the Information officer
for the now defunct Barclays Global Investors which also
has a shady past that was bought by another financial
firm Black Rock.
Oh how the wheels keep spinning with these Financial crooks.
Here is the information for the Class Action Lawsuit that will
be coming soon against Paypal.
Here is the message that I received from letssuepaypal.com
this morning, as follows.
“To everyone registered, and interested: I was informed late today,
that the Law Firm of Freed & Weiss have agreed to file a Class Action
Lawsuit against PayPal for the wrong doing of Holding funds and
other issues.
For those of you who have already contacted the Attorneys, I have
been told that you will be receiving a copy of the filing. For those of
you who have not contacted the Law Firm, please do so as soon as
possible to add your name to the suit.
I have also been told that the Law Firm should be posting TV
commercials, and print ads around the country, in an effort to
encourage others who have been victimized by PayPal to join in.
Also I have closed the forum to any further postings, as I no longer
have the time to delete all the spam that makes its way on my forum.”

PayPal needs to be sues for holding peoples money and not allowing them to close there account until the reserve period of 180 days passes. I called to have the reserve removed and that request was honored but I got told they can not remove the reserve on the amount that is already in my account. One day you will see that PayPal will have a class action lawsuit against them for holding peoples money for an unreasonable length of time. When that day comes I hope you remember that you read it here first in this post. PayPal needs to go away. They had a good thing and the ruined it with this rolling reserve. Now I am told I can not close my account until the 180 days passes and my account balance is fully released.

Hi, The reason this happens is because PayPal sets aside funds for your purchases (merchandise, USPS & UPS shipping services etc.) for 5 days. If the merchant or UPS does not claim the money that PayPal set aside for them within 5 days, thPayPal returns the money back to your account. UPS pretty much NEVER claims their money within those 4 to 5 days, and PayPal said that was typical of UPS. So the money that PayPal set aside to "hold" for them (UPS in this case) is returned back to your account as "available" funds for your use. If you spend those funds and the money in your PayPal balance drops below what you owe UPS, in this example, then when UPS comes to "claim" their money for the services you purchased--there will not be enough funds in your PayPal account to pay them. That's when trouble occurs. Very few vendors, merchants wait more than 4 or 5 days to claim their money from your PayPal account for goods or services you bought from them with money from your PayPal account. This is the way it should be. Then the money that PayPal set aside for them is there waiting for them when they claim it. They get paid, and nothing has much of a chance of getting messed-up in your PayPal account. It's when the vendor or merchant wait longer than 4 to 5 days to claim their money, and the money set aside for them has been returned back to your PayPal account because they didn't collect it in a timely manner, and you spend out of that "returned back" money, your account drops to an amount lower than what is needed to pay that vendor or merchant, and then you have "insufficient funds" and can't satisfy your debt to the vendor or merchant you bought a good or service from. In my PayPal account, if something is pending payment, and I do not see a "completed" word next to the transaction, I then automatically take action and don't spend more out of my PayPal account than what might be needed to pay that vendor/merchant whose transaction is "pending" still. Believe it or not, all banks in the USA do the very same thing in checking/debit card accounts too. The money for your purchases is held for anywhere from 3 to 5 days (depending on which bank) for the vendor/merchant to claim it, and if they don't claim it, the money that was set aside for them by your bank wil get returned to your account as available funds. I hope this makes sense and helps you, this usually goes un-noticed until your account happens to be low on funds, then this money held "pending" and unclaimed money "returned to your account" becomes very noticable. And if you are like me, I called PayPal and asked for an explaination of what was gong on with my money. They very nicely explaied it to me and it greatly helped me understand what happens when vendors/merchants don't claim their money in a timely manner.

I feel you for you and it's time to share the word about PayPal's practices. Tell everyone you know about PayPal and how you feel about them. Share the word about how everyone should stop using PayPal for this reason.
I was a banker for 20 years. I left in 1994. There is a policy that was put forth in place for banks called the "funds availability act". It does not apply to PayPal but if enough people share what is happening here, maybe something will get passed to stop them from keeping our money for up to 180 days. I had the reserve hold removed from my account just for asking because of my good history. But to my shock I am not allowed to touch the money in reserve until the 180 days for each transaction passes. PayPal and eBay will never make another dime from me. If enough people stop using both PayPal and eBay maybe things will change. I know its a lot of bull to deal with but stick with Craigslist to sell. It's free and if you can deal with the flakes, it works.
