Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

They can monoplise this system as there is no real alternative if your selling on ebay i have had repeditive phone converstations with them about this issue and still unresolved firstly they told me it was a new ebay policy withich was an out an out lie now I found it was because one of my customers took 2 weeks to tell me a plate was broken and when i disputed it as she offered no evidence she filed a claim i had no choice but to take her word and refund her money i lost my items and the money and also my paypal status , I'm now in a position that I am forced to push people to give feedback so the money moves quickly enough that i can ship products which is ridiculas i have no problem with them holding a portion to cover problems but they should at least release the shipping amounts so us seller can continue selling , since if there is a refund it's for the product not the shipping !!!!

I have had people outright refuse to return items, demand i pay to get them returned or they will trash my feedback, had that word for word in emails from customers on two occasions, and paypal and ebay, despite saying feedback extortion is a violation did what, NOTTTTTHINGGG!!
Sellers need to gather our resources, and sue both entities, they just limited my wifes acct for no reason, denied an appeal withough reason, and say they will hold her money for 180days BEFORE she can even find out the process to get it back. Enough is enough this company needs to be stopped!

I've been waiting quite awhile to get my money. I honestly doubt I'm going to see it. The only solution to my way of thinking is to not use Paypal or ebay for anything. The star system is flawed; what Paypal is doing by putting holds on our money is known as stealing in some circles. Not only was I a sometimes seller; I was also a frequent buyer. I will do neither ever again because of this. They are not worthy of our trust, and certainly not worthy of our money.

I've been using Paypal since 2005 for ebay, and affiliate program payments. I also pay people through Paypal and have never had a bad experience or problem. I've had to refund money, no problem.
So why did I get a message from Paypal putting me on this 21 day payment hold? From what I can tell, it must have been because I sold a bassoon on ebay that was a much larger purchase amount than normal for me.I got good feedback from my buyer, too, but apparently this makes no difference to Paypal.
The problem is that I get my affiliate payments through ebay because it used to be faster that way. But now that they are doing this, I guess I'm going to have to go back to getting paid by check. **bleep** for Paypal because they lose out on percentage they charge my payor. **bleep** for me because there's a risk my check will be lost in the mail and sometimes the companies I work with charge a fee to me for writing a check.
Everybody loses with this Paypal payment hold policy.

This is NOT just happening to "problem sellers".
It is happening to loyal users, who have trusted PayPal to dispense their funds to them, and trusted PayPal with their sensitive financial information.
It is happening at the worst possible time of the year, when many people count on their holiday sales to earn a little extra money, or a lot of money.
It is happening to new sellers, and sellers who have been on ebay for many, many years.
It is happening to Power Sellers, who have 100% positive feedback.
Why is it happening, at all?
Why are the administrators silent?
I asked this before, and shall ask it again:
PayPal, has your site been compromised? Are you not willing to respond to your users? Is there a panic afoot? Are you concerned that the Internet will be flooded with fraud concerns?
Is anyone still working for PayPal? Where are our answers?

FANTASTIC letter!!!!!!!!! Right on!!!!!!! I think ebay and pay pal are going broke, and that is why they are holding our funds. They have lost my 200+ a month in ebay fees, I quit selling after they did the hold on me, a Power-Seller.

Sold something on eBay. Printed shipping label using eBay, tracking information automatically entered into eBay. Delivered Tuesday morning. Positive feedback received instantly. Payment availability date was changed to 12/02/11 on both eBay and PayPal. It has reached that day. Now when I check PayPal the funds are still on hold. I go to check the what the availability date is on PayPal and it says "try again later" as if there is an error while eBay still shows 12/02/11.
What is going on here? Its been 3 days past confirmed delivery and the availability date even said today.

I'm going to make a big complaint if I don't have my money by 11:59pm. Their policy already **bleep**, but unfortunately I'm forced to follow it - WHICH I ALREADY DID.
Is it possible for me to get my money during the weekend? Or does paypal only do business days?
