Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!
It's not just for using Ebay..It's all Paypa! I've had a payment from my sister that I requested via an email and it's been on hold "review" for over a week now. I'm pretty upset at this point..it was between two people with a paypal acct and both verified accts. What's up with that! There were no items to ship..it was a "service" payment.
It is illegal!! But who will enforce the law? A letter to the CEO, ( recorded signed for or special delivery at £5.45) will get a response I am sure. You ought not to have to do this but "well you live & learn".

had the same on hold problem last week, it was over 2000$ and i was very upset. Had to sell a item of mine because I needed the money and found out after I sold it that the money would be put on hold, To my amazment the same day the buy recived the item and left postive feed back the funds were release (Thank You PayPal) but now I have to waite 5-7 business day to transfere it into my bank account. Why dose it take this over a week to withdraw money. When you verify your bank account they deposit and withdraw a couple of dollars it only takes a day?
I have an auction payment on hold for review right now for like $8. I have a perfect feedback rating on EBay with over 400 transaction so I don't fall into the auto hold category and even still tracking is on this auction. The best part of this deal is Paypal says they will notify by email if a payment is on hold but they didn't so I shipped the item and then found out about the hold later. When I emailed customer service I didn't get an answer to why it was being held or why I didn't get an email about the hold just a form letter asking me to email back or call. How about answering the simple question.
Almost the same problem.Have been recieving payments every week for months now from the same place. Suddenly my payments for work done have a 'pending stauts' so instead of getting my money on Firday it won't be relased until Wednesday next week. Now HOW DO WE FIX THIS problem?????? Who do we contact so an answer can be explained?
Im waiting for a refund.. Nothing to do with ebay, just another company and used paypal as my payment method, it got refunded on fri (nearly a week ago) but its still saying on tempory hold, but also completed, has anyone else had this problem, and when should i expect to have my refund back 😕
I was just informed that I would be on a 21 day delay, I have never had a claim, never had a shipment with any problems. I have had a positive balance for years, I just don't understand this stuff. Don't they want the people to be customers? Poor customer relationship forget trying to talk to someone, that automated thing kept asking me about a refund, although a refund was never in my questions. Stick a fork in me I'm done,I hope all of you have better luck than I did.
I don't know about anyone else, but this hold on my ebay funds for up to 3 weeks is not right. I sold stuff on ebay before I realized that paypal was going to pull this. The whole reason for selling on ebay was to get money to pay my bills which will now be late because I have to wait.
Rest assured, that as soon as my listing finish selling I will find a new way to get my money.
They even took money out of my bank account and overdrew it instead of using the money that the buyers sent directly to them. I know that this isn't right and I hope someone sues or something.
