HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

This is ridiculous. My money has been on hold for 21 days and the buyer recieved the item at least 2 weeks ago. Granted I am a new seller but the buyer emailed me saying he got the item and yet PayPal still hasn't given me my money. And by the looks of it its not just new users that this is happening to.  Who do I have to call and what do I have to tell them to get my money?? Please help?!?!

and do some youtube video reseach there's alot complains on P i never seen so many videos

out there.  i think people should sell on ebay use p and problem is make complaints about new policy

they put in here  make youtube videos about it and send it on forums on here i know alot people on youtube would watch it.

Thats why you got try impoved things out there and maybe P will listen to there customers out there  and you got try harder and the more you try the better chances you get good at it.

But i hope you get your p money soon from that ebay seller soon and i hope something good comes out of this and

I am new to all this, but I sold something and received positive feedback within 10 days of sale!  Buyer was very happy, but I still can not get to the money and it has been 22 days.  What do I have to do to get my money?

Thank you in advance.

I'm a new seller and was curious about this too.  I thought it was a hold for the first few payments I received but it's not, it's for all payments received, even instant.

Website states something like if you confirm delivered or receive positive feedback your money will be released.

True and not True....

If you click on the blue highlighted funds (the amount they are holding) it will tell you a release date.

You can have your funds released earlier if the buyer leaves positive feedback.  When the buyer leaves positive feedback you must wait at least 3 days for Paypal to release funds.  I've verified this one myself with the log book I keep and when the feedback was left.  **If feedback was left and it's been more than 3 days there may be a glitch.  Read on and I'll explain.

You can have your funds released earlier if the item is confirmed delivered.

Again...true and not true!

I've had an items confirmed delivered, no feedback yet (only been less than 1 week) and yet no funds released.  I called and ........PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!  Smiley Very Happy

Although calling in can be a pain, sometimes your money is worth it!  Click the contacts link before you call!!!!  It gives you a wait number that gets you through faster, less than 3 minutes wait time for me on a Friday morning.

If your item has been confirmed delivered and no feedback has been left (or if it has been delivered and feedback has been left) and funds have not been released after waiting at least 3 days, CALL!   I did and a very helpful person manually released my funds after confirming they had been delivered and it has been more than 3 days.  Funds released while I was waiting and I confirmed it by refreshing my page!!!   Customer service stated that this does happen and unfortunately it may/may not be a technical glitch.  He put a message into tech support specifically for my account only.  It may be a single thing or not but calling solved my issue!

I did tell CS that I saw enough posts here to have PP try and solve that problem across the board.  I understand the 3 day waiting after confirmed delivered thing but waiting up to 21 days for funds is a bit overboard!  14 days is good, unless confirmed delivered!

Hope this helps those looking for the same answer I was an hour ago!

Happy bidding/selling!!!

Craigslist is okay to use if you are only selling a few items and that's it.  For someone like me who is selling up anywhere between 20 and 50 items per month to different buyers....not the route to take.  Craigslist also does not offer ANY protection for the buyer or seller.  Being new I've already had to go through one situation where a buyer put a great bid on one of my first items up.  After 4 days no payment, after another 4 days no  contact.  Ebay reversed all fees and I was clear and free.  Imagine if I were to meet with  a buyer from craigslist only to get ripped off?  Yes, they take fees but you don't run an ad in a newspaper for free.  Craigslist is free because it is unrestricted and you take your own risk of selling/buying.

And why would you not be expected to pay shipping fees??  When you order something from say Target online, do you not pay shipping fees?  Your buyer pays the shipping fees if you include that in your ad.  If you state it's free or forget to put a shipping cost in the ad...then I'm sorry now you're responsible.

If it's done correctly and you review everything Ebay/Paypal are the safest and fastest way to do business.   But everyone has their own opinion and taste.  Good luck.

The thing is, that we sell our product on ebay, have to mail of the product, pay shipping. The buyer gets to enjoy the item sold, so seller should get to enjoy the money made off of the item sold. Then we have to sit around for 21 days for our money to be released. How would it be if we waited 21 days to mail of product after the product was purchased. We can't wait, we have to deliver the product in a timely manner, so we should get our funds in a timely manner. I have one payment that says it would be released on Feb 7th, here it is Feb 16th and still no funds. Some of us could use the funds, which is why we sell our items. I shouldn't have to wait for my money.
