HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

In an indirect way it applies to buyers as well.   Many sellers are now holding shipping items until funds are released,  and thats if they are release,  and from what I've read, some big time sellers  funds are  being "held hostage" for more than 21 days!  Some as long as 3 months.  So a buyer could equally be out money and an item.

Don't misunderstand me.  I'm done here as a seller...and I won't buy anymore either do to the fund hold.  It's just not worth losing our hard earned money from either perspective, especially to such a gross misrepresentation of a corporate company.

I would be enraged if I bought something and found out they weren't going to ship it for 21 days...Paypal is atrocious.

Well, what other recourse do the sellers have?  They are already being ripped off by the fee's PP takes right of the top from the buyers payment.  If you read this whole thread, many long time sellers are packing it in, and are done with the injustice. This new policy not only hurts the seller, its going to be passed down to the buyer.  So both parties lose..  and hopefully in the long run PP and EB will be the biggest losers.  Shame on these 2 huge entities (they are intermingled  as one though) and their deep pockets...  I wonder how they sleep...

I wanna know who is getting interest on the money that is being held and if we should get interest on the money held for the 21 days.  Someone is making money with this rule and its not me.  I'm waiting for my money.  Paypal has a 21 day hold on it.  I cannot pay my bills because Paypal has my funds.  These rules have to change.

Thank God, the buyer finally left feedback 7 days after receiving the item so now I can finally access my money! After 6 years with eBay and a 100% rating I'm going to do everything in my power to avoid having to use eBay + Paypal again. What horrible, greedy companies.

Theseller.  Make sure you upload the shipping confirmation # to PP.  Try to get your buyer to leave a positive feedback.  I had to write  one of my buyers and I went so far as to explain the new policy in my email to her.  She has been on EB as a seller and buyer but not for awhile and was unaware of new policy.  She left her feedback and I had my funds released within a day.  I promptly paid my balance off and transfered what was left in my PP account to my banking insitution.  I'm done with them...

PayPal states that confirmation of delivery will remove the hold on your money however I put my tracking # in PayPal and eBay the day I sent my package and even now 7 days after it was marked as delivered I could not access my money until the buyer left me feedback. Absolutely BS!
