HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

As far as I can feel about the very down to earth problem of a seller getting his/her money rightful money is not to worry about denial or if ebay/pay pal expands to everywhere in the world...it is correcting this injustice that we sellers have to face.

I like to make extra money like all in this bad economic world we find ourselves in, but am very hesitant to sell anything on ebay because I do not if or when I will now be paid.

The only way to effect ebay/paypal illegal actions is to make make them pay a cost for doing this to us. I have been sending information to Freed& Weiss LCC..to Vincent or Julie Miller (312)220-0000, to develop a classification suit. If anybody has other law firms other other actions like the complaints to the FTC....put the info in this forum.

Ebay/paypal will only try to correct our payment problems is if we hit them in their cash pocket.

5black4-You are preaching to the choir.  If you check any of my prior posts I have been supportive of the class action suit since day 1 and been criticized for it but I agree it is the only way to make them pay.  letssuepaypal.com has been up and running since last November when the administrator Brian attempted to have a law firm consider a class action and begged people to register as did I.  The law firm you are referencing now is the exact law firm that started to take this case seriously.  Now I see other law firms wanting to get involved but either way join one of the class actions.  I watch the financial news to get a feel for how bad eBay is doing additionally the changes in other countries monetary polices with regard to PayPal may affect some of us that do sell internationally.

I keep stressing that if you use the search function for these boards you will find a wealth of information.  Try searching "FTC" and you will see the posts suggesting that along with the BBB, your state's Attorney General's office.  In fact Mrs5Pennies wrote to Eric Holder, the Unites States Attorney General and he responded.  You can find all of this in past pages by the search function.

Bottom line--keep signing up for the class action suit and contact the law firm.

Thanks for posting the law firm and contact number again.

I couldn't agree with you more! This whole thing has everyone pretty spooked out!! That is why quite a few people (myself included), have turned to other auction sites. One is OLA.com. Even Yahoo! has a selling site! The big rage now is Amazon. And there's at least 3 to 4 other online money transfer systems that are begging for people to join them. Lots of people have been monitoring this saga.

There's one other thing I'd like mention: everyone's ticked off at PayPal but it's really eBay who'se been pulling the rug out from everyone. I don't think PayPal pulls this 21-day hold nonsense on other auction sites.

Well Paypal just lost another customer. With this policy in place, I'll never return, and I'll encourage my wife to close her acct too. In the past year, I've sold over $20000 worth of merchandise. I have a perfect feedback score, and my customers all loved the service that I provided, yet my funds are on hold. This guy that just won my last auction, was an extremely slow payer. Do you really think he's going to leave me feedback in a timely manner?

Also, whats to stop someone from getting the merchandise delivered, and changing their mind about wanting it? They can simply break it, say it's damaged, and I have no say in the matter. I get broken merchandise, and I'm out for the shipping costs, while they get a full refund?

This is a really poor business decision, on the part of Paypal. I should have just sold it on Craigslist. Never again.

So you come to work for me, but after your 2 weeks I tell you I can not pay you until after my customers pay me, and you may have to wait 21 days. Meanwhile I take the money I shoud have paid you and hold it in a bank account until the 21 days is up..Sounds fair to me..Everyone on this forum has the right to sue, not sue, whine not whine or be an **bleep** like you, its still a free country . Class Action LAwsuits are available for a group of people that fee that they have been done a disservice by a large corporation. I think they are right to do so, and obviously paypal/ebay have been sued before and lost due to bad business practices. I manage a division within the company I work for , and I make sure my employees get paid when they are supposed to, I would never change the rules in the middle of the game just to make a buck..Still a free country BUD

Got to love the posting of how wonderful  eBay/papal is, how upfront they are in their "hold" policy. If us "LALA comp-lainers" would only try to understand the their plight. The good sellers (100% feedback and 5 or near 5 star) are the ones that pay for the abuse by bauds and the unspecific hold "rules". Us good sellers can't get a straight answer from the mis-understood papal and the double talk we get from "customer service".

I have no use for frauds.. by bad sellers, buyers and ebay.paypal's gray area payment policy. This comment on the classaction initiative is not to make any money from it...it is to level and correct the "playing field".

Us good sellers are penalized by the bad practice of lousy seller, buyers and the eBay/papal elastic/murky hold policy. The listed hold policy say our funds "MAY" be held...not "WILL"..and it turn out to be a definite WILL HOLD. Can't poor eBay/papal state EXACTLY what they mean? No they do not ...MAY...is a much different term than WILL.

This posting must be from a person that has not had their funds held for weeks until we have to resort to begging for our funds. You notice papal takes its fee immediately..while the seller waits.

This person also has not considered how the good seller is subject to fraud by the buyer and papal just makes this more of a possibility for the seller to be a victim of buyer fraud.

Feeling sorry for eBay/papal for withholding our funds and the financial problems it causes is like feeling sorry for the IRS because they have to hold our money in their coffers all year (paying not interest) before we can show them most of the money they hold ( and collect interest on) is what we earned above what we must render unto Caesar.

Poor...poor eBay/paypal.....LALA LAND people that feel they are just misunderstood.

Paul your ignorance and reasoning continues to astound me.  I think you might have more fun in Washington with the teabaggers and rallying against health care reform with incendiary remarks and name calling. My question to you is do you have a life?  Why are you wasting your time by your own admission reading these whining posts everyday? Talk about mistatements or weak assumptive accusations--I have yet to see you post one single independent link to support your position that PayPal is honorable. You just seem to spew rhetoric and bad rhetoric at that.

These forums should be a place where people can come looking for help and advice or whine if they want but not attacked for their lack of knowledge as many are new  sellers.  A majority of sellers have been active for years and were active on eBay when PayPal went from an independent company that was just one of the payment options that we could offer on our eBay listings to becoming part of eBay and things gradually changed.

Who are you to sit back and judge others while offering no concrete advice.  Get a life please. I read these in the morning, post if I have something to add and will point out the useless rantings of people like you and hope you go away. if you have nothing substantial to say or whine about--you are reverse whining and it is tedious.

BTW what makes you think you are so superior and knowledgeable of the law that you can criticize and determine that a class action cannot be filed--JUST BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THE CAP LOCK BUTTON?   From Wikipedia "The proposed class must consist of a group of individuals or business entities that have suffered a common injury or injuries. Typically these cases result from an action on the part of a business or a particular product defect or policy that applied to all proposed class members in a uniform manner"  Seems to me that everyone who has had their funds held even after complying with the so called requirements for eBay/PayPal is part of the "class". Oh and in case you are not aware the class action suit will be filed against eBay as the parent company of PayPal.

Here is an idea why don't you call one of the class action firms and tell them they are wasting their time--I know they would love to hear from you.

Suggest strongly you click on this link but I realize you are of the mindset of negativity and denial. I hope others on this forum will just start ignoring anything you feel you have to say. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=filing+a+class+action

 Have a good day.
