HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

gtr053 ~ Upgrade to what kind of account?  Do you mean upgrade to a business account?  That doesn't work either.  My account is (and has been) a business account.  I'm a top rated seller and a gold member power seller and my funds are being held in PayPal's illegal 21-day scheme to earn interest on our money.

I have a PayPal business account also and have a 99%  rating via ebay... And had Power Seller status star until e-bay decided that unless I receive 100% on shipping I am now considered "Below Standard" and I am no longer listed as a Power Seller!  But, guess what, my sales have grown regardless of the rating... Buyers want good product at a good price with good customer service.  Whith that in place they will continue to buy.... Maybe E-Bay and PayPal can begin using common sense and get away from cold corporate decisions when it comes to withholding our money.. Regardless of the amount of time involved!

I don't think they have a clear cut policy because my account was already upgraded when they did this to me. I called them and threatened to leave and within hours my account was released!

totally agree this is horrible.  it **bleep** me off . im selling stuff on ebay to make extra money now i have to wait to pay heavy bills later because my money is on hold for 21 days.  UGH  this is very frustrating to me.  i have shipping numbers and now i have to wait till people give feedback  i almost want to email them and beg for feedback so my money will be released.  but will it be released sooner???  dont believe that.  if paypal now the new mafia???!!!!

   Well I"ll  put it to you like this: many pages ago on this forum I used to say that you're dealing with big bucks here. It's eBay who are the Tony Sopranos and the Al Capones. Ever since they bought PayPal for a billion dollars things have been all haywire. The only people who could put a scare a into them was Louis Vuitton when they sued eBay for using bogus LV keywords that would bring shoppers to eBay when they clicked on those keywords.

   Other than that it's the old saying: when you have money you have power.

You know I actually had a recent dealing where they made it clear it was either till the package was delivered or the buyer left feedback. All I had to wait for was conformation from ups that it was delivered and I got my money which was I think like 5 days.

But I do agree they shouldn't be holding it.
