HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I too haven't sold for a long time and now paypal is holding my money for 21 days. I want to know how long I will be considered a new seller. I agree with you, paypal has no right to hold my funds when I am the one paying seller feels to both ebay and paypal. Help me out here.

I have found if I pay for my shipping thru paypal I get my shipping costs back. But today I have a nice chunk of change that should be released and they still have not released it. Guess I have to get on the phone and see if I can get someone to tell me whats up now! Good luck.

I do agree with you. I do not know how we can get around it. I have 3 transactions away from 100 and one day I get an email saying you are doing great and we are no longer holding your funds and the next day it is up again. No changes happened on the account. My feedbacks have a couple of old negatives but one was a customer who lied flat out and refused to remove feedback from ebay. The other was one who bought 3 items and I combined shipped but he only paid for 1 so after he refused to pay for the other 2 items i refunded his money and canselled the other 2 transactions. These are bad buyers that caused my feedback to go down thus causing paypal to be able to keep my money.

i have 100% positive rating! why in theblue **bleep** do i get a 21 day hold. i have been with Ebay since 2004!!!! i use this money i get from selling things to help out my husband since i am unable to work.

Wow! Well I can see that this is how PayPal is going to be. I do beleive there are other sources for payments ect, I may have to start looking around. Thanks for the info, They will most likely hold mine forever too! Good Luck to you!

I hope paypal reads these comments, over 2000 ppl are upset over this. We are the ones with 100% satasfaction and good ratings. Why not punish the ones WHO DO NOT PAY??? Why punish the ones who ship on time, if i cannot ship right out i send a note, There have only been 2 times in 7 yrs i have had slow shipping. Both times my son was ill and I refunded the shipping. 

Its hard enough to sell things in this economy but we dont deserve to have our money held hostage. 

Its ridiculous.

Paypal is doing an injustice to us the sellers. We have done nothing wrong other than sell items we dont need.

No i dont have 10,000 100% ratings but i do have 75 and everyone except for 1 guy who gave me a positive rating but griped a little .

THis is our money, why wont paypal talk to us on here? We arent the bad guys. Go after the ones who commit fraud and who steal from us by opening up claims against honest sellers.

Ok well around ten days ago I sold two things on eBay. Then both products sucessfully were shipped after checking my tracking numbers through the USPS website. Now several days later I still don't have the payments, even though they have the item that I sent. I asked both users to leave feedback, however they simply ignore me. Is there anyway to lift this?

As a "New Seller" I understand the initial reasons to hold a payment to verify, prevent fraudulent activity etc.

However I am curious, how long does this go on for?  Will this happen with EVERY transaction, or does it stop after a number, or period of time.  It doesn't really give me any clear answers other than the list of "to get your money earlier yada yada yada"

Ive sent with tracking, and printed labels with PayPal, it has been confirmed delivered etc, the only thing is I havent received feedback yet,.

Some concrete answers would certainly be nice, with having over $850 "Pending Balance"

Does anybody know the answers??
