I just don't understand why it takes any amount of time to transfer funds to my bank account but if I make a payment or paypal wants their fees the money is available that second. A customer paid me but I am transferring money to my bank account. They were asking me to ship item overnight after they paid but I can't until I have money in my hands.......my auction stated 5 days handling but if it weren't such an expensive item and shipping cost it would not be a problem. Where is the money at when it is no longer in my paypal account and not in my bank account either????????? To me this is a scam, there has to be something someone can do.....I am going to have to refund the money back because the customer has to have this overnighted and I can't come through...thanks paypal!!!!!! You cost me over $4,000.00 having to cancel this sale over something that doesn't make since.....

Sounds like you are a new user of PayPal?   Try reading all the terms etc.... they tell you how long it takes in general.  So if this is the case then try explaining it to your customer - gosh what a novel idea, tell them the truth on what is happening.   Good Luck!!

When you transfer funds from your PayPal account to your bank account, you are requesting an electronic transfer from your PayPal account. Upon such request, PayPal will initiate the electronic transfer via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system.

The ACH is separate and distinct from the various bank card networks that process credit card transactions. ACH operations are done in a batch mode, which can take up to 72 hours before the money is actually transmitted.

To learn more about this process check the following websites...
