Updating Preferred Way To Pay

Did some very simple account maintenaince (or so I thought) I added a new Bank 3 weeks ago and set it as my preferred way to pay. Today, Paypal went ahead and continued to charge my old Bank which I do not currently use and do not keep a balance in.

I will now be charged 2 X $40 NSF for two small charges for monthly services I sign up to and use Paypal to pay for. Support was completely useless even understanding the issue. Ended up completely removing the old bank, as this would likely keep happening over and over every month.

Bottom line, remove any bank you do not want paypal to have access to. They made a complete mess.

I just had the same thing happen to me. I have YouTube Premium monthly sub come off of my credit card and this month, out of nowhere, PayPal switched the funding source and charged my bank account instead, which was NOT selected as my preferred funding source, and my bank account had insufficient funds because I don't really use that account much anymore. Now I have a $45 NSF from my bank. Tried to escalate to customer service but they did not help whatsoever. Thanks PayPal customer service for being absolutely useless. 🙂
