Can't link foreign debit card to my account

Hi,

I try to link my UnionPay debit card to my PayPal account but it says 'You can't link that type of card. Please try a different payment method'. Can anyone tell me how to add this card?

Paypal is country specific so you have to open a Paypal account registered in the country where you live. You would then need to add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

The billing address of the card has to match your paypal account information.

You can however in most countries add a U.S bank account (not card) to your paypal account. This is because paypal is a U.S company and allows that option for U.S Paypal account holders working in other countries.
