Card linked to another account error message

Hello everyone, I tried making a payment from my PayPal account, but I kept seeing an error message that my card is linked to another account. I tried several other cards, but same error message. Please kindly help

Hi @Nonuel

You should be able to add a Debit Visa Card to your PayPal account (as long as it isn't already linked and active on another PayPal account).

Even when they are in Nigeria and it says on the link I posted that they can only add a credit card in their country?

If you reside in one of these countries/regions, you have the ability to link a credit card to your PayPal account and send payments. You do not have the ability to receive payments.

I have always given advice it has to be a credit card so can you update so I can change my advice if needed, cheers.

From checking the Nigerian PayPal website (www.PayPal.com/ng), I can see it mentions 3 different types of cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Although in the same Help forum it mentions Credit Cards primarily as the correct type to add. With Nigerian accounts, Credit Cards are much more common and usually more convenient for Nigerian customers to add. However, the above card types are also acceptable!

Did you mean debit cards in the second part of your message? Or do you mean that they can still only add a credit card as I saw from the previous link?

Only from all the posts on this forum about adding cards in Nigeria, they all seem to have an issue adding a debit card.

Sorry to be a pain but want to give the correct advice.
