Cannot Link Bank Account

I've tried linking 3 different bank accounts that have never been linked with Paypal before so that I can make my Paypal Credit payment. I get the error message "This account needs a little help to link it." I called Paypal customer service and the person I spoke to said she was unable to link them, either, but would not tell me why and just sent me towards the regular "Add a Bank Account" page before hanging up. I'm in the US and one of the banks is on their list of bank accounts to add and I've tried logging in through there and also providing my routing/account numbers and get the same error. I have no restrictions visible on my Paypal account. What's the next step I can take because this is apparently my only option to make a Paypal Credit payment online.

I am sorry to hear you are having issues adding a bank account to your PayPal account. 

 

It could be our internal security system blocking this action. I would advise waiting 72 hours before attempting to withdraw your funds again. Once 72 hours pass, please log in to your account using the PayPal Website rather than the PayPal App. Make sure to login from a secure device and do not use a VPN. If in 72 hours, you are still unable to withdraw your funds, you may need to contact our customer service team directly in order to see if you can do a security override/check via phone or PayPal Messaging. We would be unable to complete this security check via Twitter, unfortunately.
