Something Went Wrong. Try Again Later - no details on problem

I am trying to send a token amount to a UK paypal account, to see how long the processing time is from one bank to another. Currently using Wise and it has been so glitchy and unreliable lately, plus fees are getting high, so would like to do my twice-monthly transfers on Paypal if i can.

I have had the US paypal account for ages, but not used it much. Already connected to my bank. I start the sending process for $10, find the recipient (UK email address), confirm that Yodlee can verify with my bank. Log in to my bank on the pop-up, takes an age, but it processes. Once it wanted to send me a confirmation code, did that it was fine. (Other 2 times i tried afterwards didn't ask for the confirmation code step.) Then it spins and thinks and i get : "Something Went Wrong. Try Again Later." with no details or explanation. I can see have funds in the linked account, so I am trying to understand what the issue is - is my bank down for service (it is middle of the night in the US), is Yodlee known for being glitchy, is my paypal account "dusty" and just getting mad because i havent done anything in ages?

This should be easy, right? What am I not doing correctly or what is misbehaving?

If you are using your paypal balance then funds have to be in the correct currency of £££ not $$$. Paypal only convert from a linked bank account or card.

Secondly has the recipient added $$$ to their paypal account currencies and have you checked the recipient is happy to receive $$$ and not £££?

Thanks!

I am trying to send direct from my linked bank account, not from funds balance in paypal.

Yeah, that recipient regularly receives payments in both $$ and ££.

It seems like Paypal, Yodlee are mad about some verification thing, or the systems aren't talking. Just not sure if it is a me problem or a them problem, and if it will actually resolve itself.

Is Yodlee your bank? Only never heard of it and not sure why you are using it?

I’m getting the same response on trying to verify my social security number and spoke with customer service, but still not fixed.  I can receive money, but can’t use it.
