Question about cancelling an order that was placed using my Paypal debit card.

I made a purchase at Costco using my Paypal debit card and cancelled it a few minutes later.  My account shows the amount of the purchase removed with Pending as the transaction.  I seem to recall a transaction that was pending for me one time that took 30 days to clear and for the money to return to my account.  Please tell me that is not the case here.

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
However it may be a lot quicker if the company you paid can void the transaction for you.
