Delay receiving PayPal check

It’s been 8 days since requesting a check from PayPal….they indicate 5-10 days. Are delays unusual?

If they say 5-10 days and its only 8 days how can that be a delay?

I requested a check over a month ago but I have not received it. Will I ever get it ? Please someone who has faced a similar issue should help out
