Can't send an invoice

Hi

I tried to raise an invoice on Saturday. Background: I haven't raised an invoice for a while, and my account balance is low.

When I hit the Send button, I received an error message: "We're sorry, we couldn't create your invoice. Please contact our customer support team for any queries".

Today (Monday) I create the invoice again (client was expecting it on Saturday!), and get the same error message.

I rang customer support, and was told that my account had been "risk flagged", she didn't know why, and that the problem "usually" resolves itself in a few days. She suggested that I provide my email address to my client so that they could deposit funds into my PayPal account.

I told her that to do that I would have to create an invoice outside PayPal to send to my client, and in that case it would be simpler to ask them to deposit the funds directly into my bank account, bypassing PayPal. When I asked her how I would know when the "risk flag" had been cleared, she said PayPal wouldn't notify me, meaning that I could be in this position again: raise an invoice for another client then be unable to send it.

Has anyone else been in this position? How did you resolve the situation?
