Birthday Fund Question - But want to use PayPal for the purchase.

Basically I want to have a Birthday Fund to buy a new 3D printer. I don't want to withdraw the money, but want to leave it in my PayPal account and purchase a 3D Printer with the money from the Fund using the PayPal button on their (the 3D printers website), will I need to pay fees for this fund and do those donating (friends and family) to my Fund, pay a fee?

I see it states that those donating will have to pay a fee. If so I will rather then pay direct into my bank account. But it would be more convenient for me if it was already in my PayPal account and easier for some to pay using a PayPal link.

Thanks.

You don't pay a fee to keep funds in your paypal balance.

If they send you friends/family payments then you again do not pay a fee.

However if they are SENDING the friends/family payment its only free for the sender if they fund it from their paypal balance or bank account. If they use a card then they will get charged the card issuers fee.

Ah I see, a card payment will charge a fee, but how would they send it via their bank if PayPal doesn't have account numbers associated with it? Thanks.

They can fund it via any linked funding source attached to their paypal account.

So if they have added and confirmed a bank account as per links they can fund it via that OR a paypal balance.

Anyhow, this doesn't answer your concern. But to say Happy Birthday just as me! 😊
