WAX Transaction

Hi - has anyone out there heard of a WAX transaction?  Funds were taken from my bank recently - yet this transaction does not show up in my "activity" in paypal account - I spoke to someone at Paypal and they indicated they could not tell me what it was for but it appeared to be a WAX transaction where I sent $ to someone who had a paypal account but they did not use a paypal invoice etc.  no idea what it relates to - wondered if anyone out there has had same issue and how was it resolved?

Hi @lizmizzy,

Thank you for making your first post in the PayPal Community, and welcome. I can definitely understand the confusion you're experiencing!

I'm sorry that you've encountered the jargon that was used. The representative should have called it what it is known as more widely, which is a Guest payment. A guest payment occurs when you opt during checkout to enter your card number rather than log in to your account. Such transactions would not be listed in your PayPal account.

My recommendation would be to check your email account to see if you have received an email from PayPal or from a merchant referencing the transaction amount, from around the same time or a few days before it appeared on your statement. Check your junk mail/spam folder and your deleted folder. Likely, you received the receipt via email and overlooked it. Happens all the time!

I hope this information helps you find the receipt and answers your question!

Olivia

Thank you Olivia for your response...I have tried all things you have suggested in your correspondence. ...still have no idea what the charge is for.  My next step is to go to my bank and lodge an official investigation
