Transaction status

I paid for a train ticket in China with China highlights, the payment was done through paypal. Then i had a refund on my card also through paypal. Now China highlights is sending me the transaction number that was done by paypal, i got nothing in my bank account and i can’t reach any one in Paypal to check about that payment. Any one can help?!

If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller from your bank account or a card then once marked refunded/completed it will automatically go back to that bank account or card.
Normally it can take a few days up to a week to go back to a bank account. Paypal say allow 30 days for a card (1 billing cycle) but its rarely that long.
(Can vary according to country though).

Thanks for the Help @kernowlass! I understand your concern about the refund not reflecting in your bank account. Firstly, I recommend you to review the status of the payment in your PayPal account. If the payment is refunded, it will show as refunded in your PayPal activity page. If you don't see the refund status, you can report the payment in the resolution center of your PayPal account. 

 

If the payment shows as refunded and not credited to your bank account, please reach out to PayPal team to help you with the missing refund. You can find the contact options to reach PayPal team here

Thanks a lot for tryin to help. Again the problem is the transaction wasn’t done through my paypal account, actually that card is not even linked with the account. I am just using my account now to try to find out a solution. So whenever i check the payment section on my account there is no transaction as the account wasn’t used. It’s a strange issue may be, but because that transaction was done in China! Regards, Motaz

Hey @Motaz147 

 

It's possible that your purchase was completed through PayPal guest checkout. A guest checkout transaction happens when PayPal is used as the payment processor, however you may not have logged in to your account to perform the transaction. These guest transactions will not appear in your PayPal activity. 

 

Any updates regarding the payments/refunds initiated through PayPal will always be notified to you via email by PayPal. In this case, your best option would be reaching out to PayPal team to get this checked further. You can refer the contact options link shared in the previous response to reach the support team
