Refunded through Paypal Credit and not Paypal

Long story short I bought a product through paypal and later resold it. The buyer asked for a refund, so I credited him the refund through PAYPAL CREDIT. Later, his financial institution pulled the refund through Paypal (he was refunded twice). The buyer refused to return the money, so I contacted Paypal and they helped me get the money back. HOWEVER, the money was credited to my PAYPAL CREDIT and not my Paypal account. Since the Paypal refund transaction was the second transaction after the buyer had already been refunded, that balance should be zeroed out. Instead, I have a zero balance in Paypal Credit and a negative balance in Paypal.

I wanted the negative balance in Credit so I could utilize the 6 months of interest free financing. Paypal representatives told me there was nothing I could do.... and I should "borrow money from friends or family". Please tell me there is a way to transfer this amount? I tried paying with a credit card but that is not allowed either.

Sorry, if you covered a refund with PayPal Credit virtual credit line and got credited back, the refund of course goes back to your PayPal Credit, the original funding source.

See https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/where-is-my-refund-faq1212

When you paid for the refund with PayPal Credit, you should have or did you add a note describing what the payment was for and included the transaction ID? That way, you could have submitted the receipt as proof of refund for the chargeback instead of getting it refunded back to PayPal Credit.

Now you really do have to borrow from family member.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
