Recipient Has Not Received Their Money What To Do? - Need Help Urgently

I sent Money from my bank account (my bank takes 3-5 business days) on August 3rd (Wednesday). I checked my bank statements through online banking showing the money has left my checking account on August 4th (great). So I thought the person would probably get their money sometime next week, I checked Monday, asked them if they got any payment from me, they told me no. I thought it was odd as well they didn't receive a pending transaction as well in their activity and no signs of any transaction from me. Yet on my end it shows it's been sent to them on my paypal activity successfully/completed. 


So Yes I checked to make sure if I had the right information (first time sending money to them through paypal). So I verified it was them by messaging them through their paypal account which they did get my message and responded back (so I know I sent my money to the right person). However, they screenshot showed me their activity, and also showed me their most recent PayPal statements showing no signs of me ever sending money to their account. 

 

So I gave it till Wednesday which marked the 5th business day in the transaction (Aug 3 sent money, Aug 4 - 1st business day, Aug 5 -2nd business day, Aug 8- 3rd business day, Aug 9th - 4th business day, and Aug 10 - 5th business day.)

 

Today is August 12, and they still have not received my funds. Yet I contacted my bank they said the funds have already been processed and left my bank account. PayPal is telling the transaction is completed on their end and the recipient should have the funds in their account. So again the recipient showed me their activity and still nothing. I've also informed the recipient to notify their customer support with my Transaction ID to help locate the funds.

 

I never have problems loading my PayPal balance with money from my bank account. I just find it strange that money coming from my bank account does not end up sending to the recipients PayPal account.

 

Can anyone explain what has happened here because I'm confused how something like this can ever happen. I need some help to figure out

 

Where did my funds go and what type of glitch this is?

instead of the recipient checking their paypal transactions why dont you ask them to check their *bank* transactions, like going into their bank account and checking the transactions? if its just a glitch, bug, or paypal interface not showing a transaction (but its completely fine on your end) they should try checking there and see if they received it

Okay I will let them know to check but that will be odd wouldn't it? How did bank money from my account will enter her account through paypal? I thought it would go on her paypal balance, like how it usually goes into my paypal balance when i take money out from my bank. I just find this whole situation very odd and not making a lot of sense and also making me reconsider ever doing business again on paypal if they really did lose my funds somewhere in their system. It's ridiculous at this point that the person did not receive any notification on their end that i sent money to them on their paypal.

Did you do the transaction directly via your bank to their paypal account????

Or do you mean you clicked to send them money using the send/request option and FUNDED it from your linked bank account?

Also what countries are you both in.

I clicked to send them money from my paypal account, and funded it from my LINKED bank account. I'm from Canada, the recipient is from USA.

 

And I have had Zero Luck with this issue.

ok if they are in the U.S they have to set up a balance account to receive funds into any balance OR select to auto transfer it to their bank account.

Secondly did you send in CAD or USD?

If you sent CAD then have they added that currency to their U.S paypal account in their paypal wallet to receive that currency?

Okay, the recipient account has been verified for over a year. Everything is linked, phone and bank. They've checked their bank statements no money. They've called PayPal they keep saying my bank is holding the funds. And Again I sent CAD Converted INTO USD.

 

So One thing I've learned from this is to never send money to someone on PayPal directly from my bank account because for some reason PayPal ends up losing my funds and it's not safe. I get zero communication from either my Bank, PayPal, and it's just ridiculous the recipient never got the money. I'm very disappointed with PayPal service to lose over 300+ and is not cool, and I plan to never do business again.

 

Not only that, I hope people can see this thread to realize not to make this mistake as well. I am upset with the situation but it is a lesson to be learned.
