PayPal has not given me my refund

I bought a train ticket on 7 July using PayPal and was issued a refund by the train company on 11 July. PayPal is showing as putting the money back into my bank account but it hasn't. When I used the message service it a robot directs me to irrelevant information. When I try to use the 'report a problem' link it says 'We're sorry you can't file a case on this type of transaction'. It looks to me like PayPal has stolen my money and there's no route for recourse. Does anyone know how I can get my money back? I can't wait to close my account and be done with all this stress and hassle. I thought this was a reputable site but I'm never using it again.

Instead of accusing a company of theft and threatening account closure why not find out the facts first?

If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller from your bank account or a card then once marked refunded/completed it will automatically go back to that bank account or card.
Normally it can take a few days up to a week to go back to a bank account. Paypal say allow 30 days for a card (1 billing cycle) but its rarely that long.
(Can vary according to country though).

It’s been marked as refund complete since 11 July and it’s a bank account not a card. If PayPal made it easier to contact them instead of messing me around I wouldn’t be so angry. I’m definitely going to close my account and encourage my friends and family not to use PayPal.

Yes of course its paypals fault that your bank hasn't processed the refund that they sent them yet !!

Best close your bank account as well then because Paypal sends the refund ''immediately'', which is why its marked as completed (and not pending or on hold).

The time it takes to process that refund is down to your bank or card issuer.

As to not using paypal again that does not affect me or anyone else on here one jot to be honest.
