I sent a friends & family payment to an old email address that my friend no longer has access to.  How do I cancel that payment and reissue to the correct email?

Are you sure it was friends/family then, only f/f normally says SENT and goods/services says payment or completed?

If it definitely is friends/family that you used and it says completed then it has successfully gone through to the email address that you sent it to that is linked to an active and open paypal account.

You could suggest to your friend that they contact customer services and see if they can access the account for them and transfer the funds to their new and correct email address/ paypal account?

Unfortunately you can't open a dispute as there is no protection for f/f payments.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones when available (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

What does it say next to the transaction in your paypal account?

Unclaimed or uncleared or pending or sent?
