user interface usability issue

PayPal times out. Okay, I get that. It's a security decision.

But then logging back in requires three clicks.

1. Click the log in prompt.

2. Click the log in button on the login page.

3. Ignore the promotional message about some irrelevant offer and click "go to my account."

So if I'm trying to keep my homepage open so I can glance at it once in a while to see if there's new activity but I don't assiduously check back every few minutes, the site times out and I have to execute three steps to log back in.

Does anyone else find this UX design annoying as all get-out?
