I'm new to paypal, i only got an account to pay for items i purchased via ioffer.com. I went through the process of filling out an invoice and sending it out. Paypal says it takes 2-3 days for the money to be sent my merchant's way. does that mean I must take out money from my bank account for paypal or does it do that automatically? because under gross it has a negative amount which worries me.help!

Gross amount is the amount of money which will be removed from your payment funding source. Net amount is the amount of money the seller will receive. For Purchase Payments, gross amount and net amount will be the same dollar amount.

You do not need to add funds to your PayPal account prior to sending a payment. PayPal will automatically remove the payment amount from whichever funding source you selected when the payment was sent.

Login to your PayPal account, click on the "History" tab and then click on the "All activity (with balance)" option to look at your account activity. The "with balance" view will show (in the right hand column) your PayPal account balance after each transaction and should make it easier for you to understand your transaction activity.

If you click on the "+" sign in the "Date" column of your PayPal account activity page, you will see the two parts of the payment...

1) Transfer of funds from your credit card or bank account to your PayPal account balamce, and...

2) Payment from your PayPal account balance to the seller.
