I am new to Paypal and ebay and I recently bought an item for $55 on ebay through paypal. The transaction was received by the seller but came in as a Echeck. it was not protected or something like that what he said so he's waiting for the check to clear. Which I understand. My issue is I recently got a message from paypal saying that my account had insuffecient funds which was bull. I called my bank and the reason is my account got locked up from a very large deposit that was done through a check. So there is positive funds in my account that will obviously meet $55. So what do I do? Do I rescend $55 to him? Or will paypal rescend him a new echeck? Or is the one he has it will just clear in time? I'm just lost on what to do next. I don't want him having a bad check or something. The $ is there it was just an issue with my account being locked up. Please help.

Hello benjamin_life

As a new member I would like to welcome you.  An echeck is a payment in which the seller is notified that funds are on the way but they have not actually cleared to their account as of yet.  Normal clearing times are 3-4 business days from the date of the transaction.

If your bank declined our request for funds then we will make one more attempt to pull the funds and this is typically done about within 3 business days of the failed first attempt.  If the second attempt also fails then the transaction is cancelled and no further attempts will be made.  If the second attempt is successful then the seller will see the funds in their account and the transaction will be complete.

Please do not send any further payments until you are sure of the outcome of the first payment.  This will ensure you do not get billed twice for the same transaction.  I hope this helps solve to solve the problem and if you need any further help please feel free to ask.  Have a great day.
