Hi, eBay seemed to revert to an old email that i no longer use it have access to in selling some items recently. How can I retrieve these funds into my proper account? The old email was linked to my current PayPal account. But the email was never verified so just lay dormant on PayPal. Money has been paid by the buyers, but I am unable to access it. Cheers

Firstly can you add that email addy to your paypal account, as you can have up to 8 on the one account.
If you can add and verify it then the payments should come through.

If not then you need to contact your buyers and ask them to see what it says in there paypal accounts either:

1. Unclaimed with a cancel option.
2. Unclaimed.
3 Completed.

If its:
Unclaimed with a cancel option.

Then ask them to cancel the payment but tell them that it will take a few days to go back to their funding source if they funded their original payment with a debit or credit card. Then get them to use the "send money" > Goods option and pay to your email address. Tell them DO NOT use the ebay option or it will direct them to ebay checkout and the same thing will happen.

Unclaimed.

If there is no cancel option then the buyer will get their money back automatically 30 days after paying if it remains unclaimed. If it changes to completed they need to come here for advice. You will need to sort out between you if you want to still go ahead with the sale or cancel it.

Completed.

If its completed then come back for more advice.

Then next time you list an item for sale change the email addy during the listing process and check everytime.

Also to help you sort things with your buyers you can pull their contact info if its an ebay transaction. Go to advanced search top of ebay pages > contact member left column > fill in the details and ebay will send you an email with their telephone number.

Thanks for this. The buyers have confirmed that it states that the payment is completed. What do they need to do in this case. Cheers.

Can you not add and verify the old email address and add it to your account?

You can have 8 email addys on the one paypal account.

If not then your buyers are going to have to file a dispute for non receipt of item AGAINST that email addy as that email addy has nothing to send them, so its the only way they can get their funds back again.

The old email address is 10yrs old. I've sold items on eBay since the old email address was obsolete so weird that it has reverted. Can't remember passwords for the email address. how do the buyers file a dispute and how long does this take? Cheers

First phone paypal and see if they can do something for you re the email addy >>

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

If not then tell the buyers to file via "resolve a problem" lower left of their paypal summary page.

Hi, I have managed to find the password for my old email address and have verified the addition to my PayPal account. Does the funds automatically get transferred to my account? Cheers

They should do.

HOWEVER it would be showing in the buyers end as unclaimed with a cancel option SO you need to check that if the funds don't come with it that the buyer has not cancelled the payment.
