I currently have $171 on my paypal account and everytime I try to make a purchase my transactions are denied how do I fix this please help. x.x

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).
When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

OR have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

You are posting on the UK forum but talking in dollars so what country are you in?
If you are in the UK then are you trying to pay a UK seller in dollars?
What back up funding source do you have linked to your paypal account?
Are the funds cleared and not pending?

Sorry I'm in us and the funds are cleared and not pending and I don't have any backups set up

That ''could'' be why then, you may need to add a back up card to your paypal account before you can use funds in your paypal account balance.
Do you get an error message on why its declined at all?

Yes I get an error message but it doesn't say why and is there a way to use my funds without adding a backup because I have no backup bank accounts or debit cards

Paypal sometimes does stop you using your balance if you don't have a back up card linked.
